Staging Your Home

The spring market is on the horizon! This means that the real estate market will soon be bustling with potential buyers. What does this mean for you? If you are considering selling your home this spring, it is time to begin getting your home prepared for viewing. This may sound silly but staging your home in the appropriate way can help it sell that much faster! This is because it will be easier for potential buyers to picture themselves living in a home if it is presented in an open and organized fashion. Often, it only takes a few small changes to make a noticeable difference in each room of your house.

When you meet with your realtor the first time, they may tell you that there some things that need to be done before your house should hit the market. This advice is to give you the best chance of a quick and prosperous sale!

Here are some staging tips that may help to get your home on the market that much quicker.

  1. Try to Eliminate Any Cluttered Parts Of Your Home.

We all live in our homes. Clutter happens. However, when it comes to staging, eliminating that clutter can be one of the easiest ways to make your home more appealing to potential buyers. It is sometimes easiest to decorate where there is normally clutter. For example, you always put your mail on an entryway table. Well sometimes the mail piles up. Try to rather put some decor on the table. This may remind you that during the sale process, mail cannot sit on the table. Small adjustments can help perfect your staging and sell your house more quickly!

  1. Make Each Room Look as Spacious as Possible.

Making a room look more spacious can be very simple.  Sometimes it is changing the colour of the walls, but sometimes it is simply hanging less décor on the walls, moving some furniture around or buying an area rug to tie the room together. Removing some unessential pieces of each room can make all the difference to the way a room is viewed.

  1. Neutral Colours Are More Appealing to More People.

You may love that orange bedroom, as you should. Orange is great. However, an orange bedroom may not appeal to a very large demographic. When it comes to staging your home, it is key that potential buyers can picture themselves living in it. This may mean getting rid of any bold colour choices during the selling process.

These are only a few of the many staging tips I can offer you. Remember, proper staging can make all the difference.  I would love to help you sell your home this spring! For more information on this topic or anything else, feel free to call me.
